well, if my opinion is conciderated, it is all about strategy. if you can be one step befor your oponet, you are the winner! anyway, I think we should have some kind of forum team, who would be our champions. it is quit hard to make forum battles without a particular training program! that offcource is nothing but my personal opinion that i would like to share (and, as team olympic tends to become a total failure, till i conciderate taking more care about it, i would like being part of an official team)...

Yeah, but there's the luck factor that ruins strategies (critical hits, freeze, etc.). No matter how good you are, if the other player is lucky as hell it sucks.

Ok, people must understand something. The fact that somebody has beaten you or the fact that you have beaten another player doesn't make them good/bad. And there are many reasons for this. Say, you are caught without a counter for my special sweeper, you lose even if you are better than me. I pull off a lucky critical hit when I need it, you lose even if you are better than me. It all depends on your mental condition the moment you're battling in my opinion. If you're battling at midnight and you're yawning, you're bound to make that stupid mistake that'll cost you the match. Sure, skill is needed if you want to stand a chance in competitive battling, but between skillful players, it's a matter of prediction and luck.
Of course, by that I don't mean I can beat everybody if I'm lucky. In the 3rd gen days, when I was battling on a daily basis in Smogon's server in NetBattle, there were times I had some 10-0 winning runs and times I got sweeped in ways I couldn't imagine, with luck not being the reason...
And anyway, just for the sake of staying on-topic, I'll say that I am not really supporting the idea of forum fights. This will end up in rivalries between forums, and this is something noone wants to happen.

looki agree with what you say but rivalries are not tha bad always...some time they make you stronger. just my opinion
well, i think that if we are polite (as I think we are) and sey "gg" after every game, I think there will not be any rivality... as the greec part of the forum know, i had tryed to create an inside-forum clan, named team olympic, but it was a failure! but if there was an admin/mod to organise us, I think we could have good potentials to improve oureselfs.
Lies. Mods and admins are very respectful and kind people you can't blame them because your idea was trash. ( Yeah, that may looked like sloorping but that's my opinion )
