Yes you do. Just add somebody's FC in your Pal Pad, go to the basement of any Pokémon Center and tada, you can battle them.
Gold and Silver remakes were confirmed. So I have a theory for fifth generation of the games and of course, anime. In the anime in September in 2009 we will see us going back to Johto for one year until September of 2010 . So a new game we will be confirmed the next May (2010) and it will be the fifth generation. It will come out in Japan in September of 2010 an in USA and Europe in 2011(spring) like platinum. As you have seen a new game is confirmed avery May. In conclusion In September 2009 Ash will go back to Johto in Japan in the anime. He will be there for 52 episodes until the September of 2010. In may of 2010 the fifth generation will be confirmes too. And in the anime in September of 2010 Ash will beggin a brand new adventoure in a brand new region.
The fifth generation will be confirmed the next May. Firstly, Ash in the anime will visit again Johto. He journeys in Johto will finish after 52 episodes. So in September of 2010 the fifth gneration will come out in Japan. You, of course leave here your ideas for the fifth generation and for Gold and Silver remakes

That's true... Especially, since 4th generation saving takes so long. Apart from that the whole game could become faster - I'm sick of hearing everyone in the game speaking for hours, saying things of no importance like "i named my psyduck yellow cause it's yellow" And the bad thing is that even in fast mode the dialogs are too slow (for me)

that's right. i also think that the save of platinum is slower than d/p's, because of the data....

There's an option you can select to speed up the text. I have it on fastest and the text moves really quickly (But still readable.)
