in the metal generations you could trade from red bue and yellow how ever this caused many problems such as move replacement or deletion when the trades are made i mad ethis forum thread so that people could know the danger of trading between these games if you want to make a contibution to this thread it would be highly appreciated
I didn't even know you could trade in the 1st Gen. o_o
yes it was a new feture in pokemon gold silver and crystal you would go up stairs and trade any kanto pokemon to and from red blue green yellow it did have lots of problems though so they converted it to tranferring
The concept of trading was conveived before the games themselves...

I belive that the time machiene person tells you if somthing has to be deleated to trade. Also, sometimes pokemon from r/b/y come with idems.
nothing has to be deleted you just can have gen 2 pokemon in ur team when trading with them.
