Ok,here's a question:How did chris' pokemon learn their elemental moves?Second question:How did they evolve?
Thank you! I thought no one would EVER ask those two questions! Geez, does no one, besides golden charizard, have any curiosity anymore? It will take quite a few chapters to finish answering them, due to me giving each pokemon their own chapter
I have more questions:How did chris' make his pokemon so strong?Did he do any special training?
Well, actually, that one I had hoped everyone already knew the answer to. I wrote that Chris trains his pokemon quite often in Chris's Tale
Yeah,ok,but for him to able to win gym leaders so easily...Didn't he do anything special?
What I'm saying is, he trains A LOT
Okay, element moves first.

Chapter 6: Magma Pulse(yeah, I decided to title the chapters in this thread)
In the Hoenn region, we find a 12 year old Chris, with his friends, Charmeleon, Kirlia, Gyarados, Umbreon, and two Eevees, one male and one female. Chris has just recieved his sixth gym badge and was getting ready to fight for his seventh one, training on the island Mosdeep(sorry if it's wrong, Hoenn and I never really got along too well).
You had to choose the beach? You know I hate the water Charmeleon said.
Sorry, but Gyarados should train as well, right? Chris said.
Fine, I guess you have me there Charmeleon relented. The two Eevees were battling each other, Kirlia and Umbreon were squaring off, which left Gyarados and Charmeleon to spar with each other.
Gyarados, Aqua Tail! Charmeleon, dodge it every time you can! Chris said. Gyarados repeatedly swung his powerful tail at Charmeleon, coming within inches from contact, though Charmeleon kept dodging. After an hour, Chris told his team to call it quits for the day, but he had some bad timing to say stop. Gyarados was in mid swing, Charmeleon got distracted by Chris's message, and...well...you can put two and two together, right? The attack struck Charmeleon's legs pretty hard, causing him to collapse on the sand, holding hid legs in pain.
Charmeleon! Charis said worryingly. He recalled everyone into their pokeballs, then rushed to the pokemon center as fast as he could. Once there, he immediately ran to Nurse Joy, who was more than happy to take Charmeleon, telling him not to worry. Chris spent the night at the pokemon center, though without much sleep. At first sign of dawn, Chris rushed to the counter to find Nurse Joy yawning widely.
"Is Charmeleon okay?" Chris asked urgently.
"Don't worry, he's alright. In fact, from your description, I didn't think he'd be this okay this soon. He's quite a lucky pokemon, being able to recover quickly like that." Nurse Joy said. Chris sighed heavely, then went to retrieve Charmeleon, but Nurse Joy stepped in his way.
"Where are you going?" Nurse Joy asked.
"To go get Charmeleon." Chris said. He tried to walk around Nurse Joy, but she once again moved infront of him.
"I'm very sorry, but Charmeleon isn't in any condition to be moved from this center until tomorrow at the earliest." Nurse Joy said.
"I thought you said he was okay." Chris said, confused and slightly worried again.
"He's in no serious danger, that much is certain, but I can't be sure he'd be okay if he were to be moved, much less do anything, like battling for example." Nurse Joy said.
"What?!? But, today is my gym match, and I can't re-schedule it, and Charmeleon is always in my matches!" Chris protested.
"I'm sorry, but I cannot let you take Charmeleon back just yet." Nurse Joy said firmly, ending the conversation. Sad and disappionted, Chris left to his match, wishing he had Charmeleon with him, and also rethinking his options for battle. When he got to the gym, he was led to the arena by the ref, and faced the two gym leaders. A boy and girl were standing side by side, both ready to battle.
"My name is Tate." The boy said.
"I am Liza." The girl said.
"And together"
"We will claim"
"Complete victory."
"Um...no." Chris said.
"This will be a four on four battle, with only the challenger able to substitute pokemon. Begin!" The ref said.
"Go Solrock!" Tate said.
"Go Lunatone!" Liza said.
Great, psychic types. Gyarados can't battle on land, Eevees aren't won't do a lot of damage, and Charmeleon is out of commition. I guess that just leaves me with two pokemon Chris thought to himself.
"We fight as one Kirlia and Umbreon!" Chris said.
"Solrock, Shadow Ball!"
"Lunatone, use your Shadow Ball too!" The twin attacks smacked Kirlia by surprise, sending him flying back.
Okay, that one really hurt Kirlia said.
Shadow Ball! Chris said. Umbreon's attack was countered by another twin Shadow Ball from Solrock and Lunatone.
"Solrock, Shadow Ball once more!"
"Lunatone, same thing!" They combined their attacks again and fired them at Kirlia, though he was prepared for it this time. He jumped out of the way at the last second, then retaliated with a Magical Leaf, but before he launched the attack, they disappeared. Kirlia looked around in confusion, as did Umbreon.
Guys, above you! Chris said urgently. They looked up just in time to see Solrock fire a Solarbeam and Lunatone launch an Ice Beam. They were both hit by the attacks, and Kirlia collapsed, fainted. Umbreon, however, was still up, though he looked like he would faint any second now.
"Kirlia is unable to battle." The ref said.
"Kirlia return." This isn't good. I was relying on Kirlia, and Umbreon has definetely seen better days, but atleast he's still up. Guess I have to rely on one of the Eevees
"We fight as one Eevee!" Chris said. Umbreon looked down at his brother, happy to be battling with him.
"Flamethrower!"
"Pyschic!" Umbreon was ready to dodge the Flamethrower, but Eevee, controled by the Pyschic, was sent crashing into him, then they were both hit by Flamethrower.
No! Dang it, these two are good Chris said.
Come on Chris, we have to fight back! Eevee said.
Wish we had Charmeleon, but I'm a dark type, and I will not lose to Psychic types! Umbreon said.
Okay then, let's get ready to fight back. Eevee, Dig, and Umbreon, get into the hole he digs! Chris said. Eevee quickly dug intot he ground with Umbreon directly behind him.
"Oh no you don't. Solrock, Solarbeam!" Tate said.
"Lunatone, Psychic!" Liza said. While Solrock was building up power for Solarbeam, Lunatone's attack dragged Eevee out of the ground and into the air, flailing desperately.
Eevee, use Shadow Ball! Chris said. Eevee fired the attack, striking Lunatone in it's face, causing it to lose control of Eevee, and he quickly dove back underground.
"I'm guessing that wasn't pleasant." Chris said, grinning.
"Laugh now, because you won't be for long. Lunatone, Rock Tomb!" Liza said. Giant rocks flew out of the ground, leaving giant, deep holes in the ground, exposing Umbreon and Eevee.
"Fire!" Tate said. Solrock fired the Solarbeam, and Lunatone dropped the rocks on top of them as well. Buried under huge boulders, Chris, Tate, and Liza were unable to see Umbreon or Eevee. Chris was starting to get really worried, then a boulder shifted, then fell over, and Umbreon and Eevee limped out.
Yes! Umbreon, Shadow Claw! Chris said. Umbreon moved forward a step, then collapsed, as did Eevee.
"Umbreon and Eevee are unable to battle. Challenger, please send forward your final pokemon." The ref said. Chris returned Umbreon and Eevee, now truely unsure if he could win.
I've never lost before, never! Why is it that I find myself on the brink of defeat now? Okay, calm down. I have two options left; Eevee or Gyarados. Eevee might not be my best choice, though I'm not sure how long Gyarados would last fighting on land Chris thought.
"What's the matter? Have you finally realized you cannot beat us? Perhaps it would be better if you just quit right now rather than-" Before Tate could finish, a Flamethrower hit Lunatone square center, sending it spiralling backwards into Solrock. The force of the collision, as well as the Flamethrower caused both of them to fall down, fainted.
"What just"
"Happened?"
"Uh-um...Solrock and Lunatone are, um, unable to battle?" The ref was just as confused as Tate and Liza. Chris turned around to see what had caused such an attack, already having a good idea, and was simply delighted to see Charmeleon standing at the doorway with a satisfied look on his face. Chris's joy was hamered a bit when he saw Charmeleon walk with a limp towards the battle field.
Who said you could have a gym match without me? Charmeleon asked, grinning.
Am I glad to see you! But wait, I thought Nurse Joy said you couldn't leave the pokemon center. How are you here? Chris asked.
I was asleep when you left, but woke up soon afterwards. I tried to get up, but that nurse wouldn't let me. She knew I was going to go see you, and told me that you had already left for your gym match. I must say, I was slightly hurt that you'd leave without me. Anyways, as soon as the chance arose, I snuck out of the pokemon center and here I am, and not a moment too soon as I see it Charmeleon said.
Sorry I left without you, but I had to go. But now isn't the time for that. Now, we fight as one! Chris said.
And fight we shall! Charmeleon said.
"Wait a minute!"
"Is that your Charmeleon?"
"Yes, yes he is. And he just beat your Solrock and Lunatone with one shot, so maybe it is you who should give up now." Chris said.
"Not a chance. Go Claydoll!" Tate said.
"Go Espeon!" Liza said. Without missing a beat, as soon as they were out, Cladoll fired a Rock Tomb, and Espeon fired a Psybeam. Rocks the size of Buildings sprang up out of the ground and hurled themselves at Charmeleon, while Psybeam struck Charmeleon on his legs just before he was buried by the huge boulders.
Charmeleon! Come on Charmeleon, don't give up now! Remember, WE FIGHT AS ONE! Chris shouted mentally. Just as he finished, the entire building grew almost unbearably cold.
"Wh-who turned up the AC?" Chris asked, shivering violently.
"N-n-n-no"
"Id-d-d-dea" A giant molten hot beam of fire launched upwards from inside the pile of rocks, blasting a hole the size of a house in the roof. The rocks were melted away instantly, and only Charmeleon was remaining there, holding a ball of super red hot energy in his claws.
"What on earth is that?!?" Tate asked, curious and terrified at the same time.
Charmeleon? Are you okay? Chris asked tentativley. He recieved only a nod as recognition that Charrmeleon heard him before he raised the ball above his head. A beam of fire erupted from the ball, headed straight for Claydoll and Espeon, big enough to hit them both at the same time. And it did. They were both enbeded in the wall, covered in burn marks, both fainted.
"Espeon and Claydoll are unable to battle. The victory goes to the challenger!" The ref said.
Charmeleon. what on earth was that? Chris asked.
I...don't know. I heard you say we fight as one, then all of a sudden, a large power awoke in me, and I just sort of did that with it. What should we call my new attack? Charmeleon asked.
I like Magma Pulse, how about you? Chris asked.
A perfect name. Magma Pulse it is Charmeleon said.
I really liked the chapter! At last we saw chris close to deafeatBig Grin
I don't know why, but I just can't seem to accept that as a full compliment
Chapter 7: Fire Shadow/Spirit Flare
Just one week after the explosive match against Tate and Liza, Chris and his pokemon team find themselves in Sootopoliss city's pokemon center, eating breakfast before their biggest Hoenn match yet against the gym leader, Wallace.
This time, we're going to fight a water type gym leader. Been a while since we fought one of those, huh? Chris asked.
You're telling me. It's these kinds of gym leaders that really let me loose Gyarados said.
Yes yes, I know you haven't been in a gym match for a long time, and I'm sorry, but today, you'll get to fight your heart out...or until the gym leaders pokemon run away from your strength Chris said.
Knowing how much Gyarados loves to battle, I'd bet they run away in fear Charmeleon said.
They'd definetely quake in fear against your element move Eevee(male) said.
How come you have an element move, but the rest of us are just ordinary pokemon? Eevee (female) said.
I've told you a million times already, I don't know how I did it, I just did! I can't even do it again if I wanted to Charmeleon said.
What do you mean? Chris asked.
I tried to practice with it last night, but no luck. I tried for hours to use Magma Pulse again, but I just looked like a fool the entire time Charmeleon said.
Oh well, you'll get the hang of it one day, I'm sure of it. For today though, I don't think you'll be fighting Chris said.
What? Why not? Charmeleon asked.
1, it's a water type gym. 2, Gyarados has been icthing to battle a gym leader for too long, and since he's up first, I doubt he'll leave you any to fight Chris said.
Fine, but I don't like it. I've always been in your gym battles, it just doesn't feel right to not be in this one Charmeleon said.
Sorry buddy, definetely next time Chris said. Once breakfast was finished, Chris returned all of his pokemon and set out for the Sootopoliss gym. Upon arrival, he was escorted in by who Chris had to guess was the ref. In a few minutes, Chris was taken to a huge arena, though it was more of an aquarium without the fish. A giant tank of water with a few platforms floating on the top was the field upon which he and Wallace, who had just now walked in, would do battle on.
"Welcome my young challenger. Tell me, are you strong?" Wallace asked. Chris simply nodded.
"Nervous are we? Well, I can't blaim you, I am the strongest gym leader in Hoenn. Ref, lets get on with it, shall we?" Wallace said.
"This will be a three on three gym match, with only the challenger able to substitute pokemon. Begin!" The ref said.
"Go Luvdisc!"
"We fight as one Gyarados!" Luvdisc gracefully popped out of it's ball smiling. Gyarados wiped that smile off it's face with a lightning fast Aqua Tail.
Overkill Chris said, looking at the massive hole in the wall Luvdisc made when it crashed.
Is under-rated Gyarados responded.
"Well, you weren't lying when you said you were strong, but I'm not that easy to beat. Luvdisc, use Sweet Kiss!" Wallace said. Luvdisc leapt out of the wall and blew several hearts at Gyarados, but missed as he dove underwater.
I don't care what anyone says, that attack is disturbing and should be outlawed Gyarados said.
Then reak a little revenge with Dragonbreath! Chris said. Gyarados shot out of the water directly infront of Luvdisc, then blasted it with his mighty Dragonbreath, sending it once again into the wall, fainted this time.
"Luvdisc, return. I'm impressed. You made my Luvdisc seem like nothing, and that is no easy task, but now is when we really begin. Go Crawdaunt!" Wallace said.
I'm having crab for lunch? Well, never had it before, but I'm always open to trying new things Gyarados said.
You're...kidding, right? Chris asked.
Yeah...kidding, sure Gyarados said.
Do I need to take you out of this battle? Because I know Charmeleon is just itching to get in there as well Chris said.
I won't eat it! geez, you never could take a joke Gyarados said.
I can take a joke, but were you joking? Chris asked.
Fair enough Gyarados said.
"Crawdaunt, Crab Hammer!" Wallace said. Crawdaunt smacked the water so fiercely it nearly caused a tsunami, and the attack was off, bolting for Gyarados at such incredible break-neck speed.
Ice Beam! Chris said. Gyarados froze the water until he was protected by an ice wall, which shattered almost instantly upon contact with Crab Hammer, and Gyarados was hit hard enough to knock him back to the edge of the tank and nearly fall out.
You okay? Chris asked.
A little dizzy, but I think I'm alright. This guys no joke. Perfect. Now I can stop holding back, right? Gyarados asked.
Have your fun Chris said. Gyarados charged and fired, in just a few short seconds, a huge Hyper Beam that tore a hole through the water as it passed. Crawdaunt was hit hard and sent backwards, smashing through the wall of the tank holding in the water, and was embedded into the wall, fainted. The damaged tank soon collapsed on itself, and all the water gushed out, emptying it in seconds.
Dang it!!!!!!!! Gyarados yelled in anger. Chris returned Gyarados immediately, wondering what would happen next.
"Well, in all my time as gym leader. I've never seen anything quite like this. I'm afraid that I've only got one pokemon that is able to battle out of water, but I guess that's okay since I've only got one left. Go Golduck!" Wallace said. Golduck appeared, but soon looked around confused as to why the water was gone.
"Long story Golduck, but for now, we have to win this!" Wallace said.
I guess It's either Kirlia or Umbreon. Since Golduck can use Psychci moves, I'm going to have to go with-Charmeleon! What are you doing?!? Chris asked. Charmeleon had come out of his pokeball by himself, ready and pumped for battle.
Why am I not surprised to find this mayhem? Chris, in the future, don't let Gyarados use all of his power, or this is going to happen again Charmeleon said.
I didn't call for you, why did you come out? Chris asked.
I've been in every single one of your gym matches, and I'm not about to stop today. Now then, am I going to have to fight alone, or do we fight as one? Charmeleon asked.
You always know the answer to that Charmeleon. We fight as one! Chris said.
"Golduck, Hydro Pump!" Wallace said. Golduck hit when Charmeleon was still talking to Chris, hitting his still slightly sore legs with tons of water.
Ah dang it, not my legs! Charmeleon groaned, clutching his legs, breathing hard.
Charmeleon, are you okay? Do you want to come back? Third question, what are you doing? Chris asked. A red dust-like cloud was coming out of Charmeleon's mouth and onto his legs causing them to shine for a brief moment before he got back up on his feet. Surprised, Charmeleon tested his legs, and they felt better than ever.
Wow, what can't you do? Chris asked.
Until I evolve, fly Charmeleon said. Chris noticed, just before Charmeleon turned away, that his red eyes were aglow with a dim crimson light.
I wonder...try using Magma Pulse! Chris said. Charmeleon closed his eyes and focused, and the room once more got freezing very quickly. All the heat that was in the room was formed into a ball of red energy in Charmeleon's claws, though it wasn't very big or as hot as last time.
it doesn't matter as long as I've done it, right?? Charmeleon said when Chris mentioned it to him. charmeleon fired the heat beam at Golduck, and blasted it into the wall just like it's companions, though after a minute, came back out, though not looking too good.
Why didn't it faint? Wait a minute, Gyarados's Ice Beam! He lowered the temperature in the room when he used Ice Beam, so there wasn't as much heat for you to use! Chris said.
Dang it, now what? Argh, if only I could have just one more element move, I'd win this for sure! Come on, come on, focus, I know I can make just one more! Charmeleon said. He closed his eyes, breathed slowly, and focused as hard as he could.
"Golduck, finish it with Hydro Pump full blast!" Wallace said. As Golduck drew his head back for his final attack, a thick rope of fire rapped around his neck, torso, arms and legs. Golduck looked behind him and saw the ropes coming form out of his shadow, then all remaining thoughts were lost as the ropes started to burn fiercely, and Golduck fainted shortly afterwards.
"Golduck is unable to battle, the winner of the match is Chris!" The ref said.
Well, what do you think? Charmeleon asked, a large grin on his face.
The one that healed you, Spirit Flare. The fire rope attack, Fire Shadow Chris said.
I like it Charmeleon said.
You know what, I don't think I'll ever understand you Charmeleon Chris said.
Don't worry, you will one of these days Charmeleon said.
Once this thread becoes a hot one, then I'll go back to Johto Jen: Goin' Hoenn
Chapter 8: Titan Wave
In the Sinnoh region, we find 13 year old Chris in Pastoria city with his friends Charizard, Gyarados, Kirlia, Umbreon, Jolteon, and Leafeon. Having recieved his third Sinnoh badge, Chris is more than ready to challenge Wake today for his fourth. But first, the group ate their lunch in the marsh.
Geez Gyarados, I doubt any pokemon is going to steal your food Chris said.
Sooner lunch is done, sooner I get to fight Wake Gyarados said.
Don't forget, I'm always in his gym matches, and since Jolteon evolved, and electric type is much better suited to fighting a water type than another water type Charizard said.
You'll still get to fight, don't worry Gyarados Chris said.
Then come on and eat! I'm just itching to fight Gyarados said, gulping down his food. After lunch had finished, Chris returned his pokemon and headed for the Pastoria gym. Upon arrival, Chris was shocked to see it, for it looked like a human gym instead of a pokemon gym.
Guess this guy's like Chuck back in Johto Chris thought. He went in and was nearly knocked down as a trainer ran out of the gym towards the pokemon center.
"Hah! I need a real challenge, not some average trainer! Who's next?" Boomed a voice Chris guessed belonged to Wake. Chris calmly strolled into the room that held the battle field, and was surprised to see it looked just like the arena Wallace had.
"So, you're my next challenger? But you're just a kid! You'd better give me atleast a halfway decent fight. Go Gyarados!" Wake said, not bothering to wait for the ref. His Gyarados came out roaring with confidence.
"I have a Gyarados as well, and I can say, without a doubt, that this one still needs a good amount of training before it can be called a true Gyarados." Chris said.
"What?!? How dare you insult my Gyarados! He has won me many battles before, and crushes his opponents in no time flat!" Wake roared.
"We'll see who crushes who in this battle. We fight as one Jolteon!" Chris said. Jolteon landed on one of the platforms a little shakingly.
"Hah! Big talk, but you don't have what it takes to back it up. Even your Jolteon is weak! Use Hyper Beam and end this!" Wake said. Gyarados charged up it's attack and fired, but Jolteon dove underwater to avoid it.
"Nice dodge, but now you're in Gyarados's element! Dive in after it!" Wake said. Gyarados dove underwater in one big splash, and was face to face with Jolteon.
I've always kinda wanted to do this to Gyarados, please don't tell him that, but I suppose this will do Jolteon said. Jolteon let loose a powerful Thunderbolt, electrifying the entire arena and lighting it up in a bright yellow light. Gyarados floated up, fainted.
"Don't let this go to your head, but it takes much to faint my Gyarados. Go Quagsire!" Wake said.
"Jolteon, return. We fight as one Charizard!" Chris said. Charizard came out roaring, ready for battle.
Did you know that Jolteon has kinda wanted to zap Gyarados to kingdom come? Chris asked.
Oh really? I didn't know that Charizard said.
I promised not to tell him though Chris said.
I didn't Charizard said, chuckling.
"Quagsire, use Ice Beam!" Wake said. Quagsire drew in breath, but instead drew in a molten hot Flamethrower.
Ouch! Chris winced.
Hope it likes spicy food, otherwise, yes, ouch Charizard said. Quagsire's tongue was burning hot, forcing it to jump under water to try and cool it off. As soon as it reserfaced, Charizard blasted it with another Flamethrower, fainting it.
"Not to be a bad sport, but don't you think that was cheating a bit?" Wake asked.
"Quagsire is perfectly able to battle under water, it didn't have to come back up." Chris said.
"Fine, but you won't have any luck against my final pokemon. Go Floatzel!" Wake said.
"Charizard return."
Wait! Jolteon didn't want you to tell Gyarados, right? So can you say that I am going to tell him? Charizard asked.
You really are a devil at times, you know that? But, Jolteon should have been more specific, so fine Chris said, then returned Charizard.
"We fight as one Gyarados!" Chris said.
Charizard wants to tell you that Jolteon has always kinda wanted to zap you to kingdom come Chris said.
Good to know. I'll make sure to have a...chat...with Jolteon later Gyarados said.
"Floatzel, Aqua Jet!" Wake said. The speed of it's attack was incredible as it zoomed around the field and finally hitting Gyarados square in the chest.
That one had some kick to it Gyarados said. Floatzel kept zipping around the field, continuously hitting Gyarados tehn zipping away before Gyarados could hit it back. Gyarados's eyes started to aquire a dim blue light, then the entire field of water started rippling uncontrollably. A strand of water snatched Floatzel, holding it in place as a ball of water enveloped it. Then, several more smaller orbs of water rose up, surrounding the trapped pokemon. Once there were enough, they transformed into swords of water in the blink of an eye, then zoomed towards Floatzel, hitting their mark. Floatzel was dropped, fainted.
What the heck was that?!? Chris asked.
Something that will make the "chat' between me and Jolteon much more interesting Gyarados said.
Haha, very funny. What should we call it? I think Neptune sword would work, what about you? Chris asked.
Titan Wave
Titan Wave? Why? Chris asked.
I had already decided the name if I ever got an element move, and I like it Gyarados said.
Okay. Titan Wave it is Chris said.
