Hi everybody!

The title sucks,I know. Toungue

This thread is about Pokemon which are decent, but not very used because there's a better Pokemon replacing them.

So,let's get started!

Cobalion

It is a decent Pokemon. It can be used both as a physical or a special attacker and why not even a defensive supporter one like a few people did back in Gen5 iirc? Toungue Its ability,Justified, can help him get some nice +1 in Attack so it can sweep (if physical). And its typing is good as well. Steel/Fight. But too bad! We already have a Steel/Fight Pokemon. Which got Justified as a Hidden Ability. Lucario.
Stat comparison not counting Mega Lucario's stats):
Cobalion/Lucario/difference
HP: 91/70/21
Attack: 90/110/20
Defense: 129/70/59
Sp.Attack: 90/115/25
Sp.Def: 70/70/0
Speed: 108/90/18
BST: 580/525/55

Cobalion has a quite higher HP and Speed and a massive Defense stat, while Lucario has higher offense stats. Lucario also has 3 different abilities and a Mega Evolution (+100 in BST) with a nice ability (Adaptability). Lucario is more commonly used tho, mostly because of being a non-legendary,easily obtained and it also has better moves. So,Cobalion has a potential, but it will never reach Lucario most likely.

Flygon

Flygon's case is weird. Dragon/Ground OP type combination,a could-have-a-better ability (Levitate),etc. It's a loved Gen3 Pokemon. Then there's Garchomp. Same type, better stats, better ability (Sand Veil). Then Gen5 comes. Garchomp gets Rough Skin. Then there's Gen6. Garchomp gets a Mega Evolution and there's another Dragon/Ground Pokemon,Zygarde (with an awful ability tho Toungue). So,we have 3 physical Dragon/Ground Pokemon.
Stat comparison (not counting Mega Garchomp):
Flygon/Garchomp/Zygarde
HP: 80/108/108 Garchomp and Zygarde have 28 more points than Flygon
Attack: 100/130/100 Garchomp has 30 more points than both mons.
Defense: 80/95/121 Zygarde has 26 more points than Garchomp and 41 more points than Flygon
Sp.Attack: 80/80/81 Zygarde has 1 more point than both. Who cares? -.-
Sp.Defense: 80/85/95 Zygarde has 10 more points than Garchomp and 25 more points than Flygon
Speed: 100/102/95 Garchomp has 2 more points than Flygon and 7 more points than Zygarde

I wouldn't suggest using Zygarde due to lack of good ability, even though from those 3 it's the only one with Dragon Dance. Flygon at least gets a (kinda useless) immunity. Garchomp also has a good Mega Evolution. Flygon should have had one as well, according to many people, along with Milotic, but that's a whole different story. Until Flygon gets something good that Garchomp doesn't have (eg: Dragon Dance) or at least a mega evolution,I doubt I'll use one.

Feel free to post your opinion and your comparisons here. But remember. Say why a Pokemon is outclassed by a similar one,not just general comparisons.
Judging by their stats, I think Lucario's and Cobalion's similarities are pretty much limited to their type. I don't think anyone would consider them for the same role.

As far as Flygon is concerned, I am one of the many people who really like it and think it should have got a Mega. Since when is levitate useless though? Anyway, it really lives in Garchomp's shadow, so the only time it should be used over it is if some of the moves it has over Garchomp are required for its role (Roost,U-Turn,Defog), but even then its stats are pretty bad.

Yeah,I guess you're right about Cobalion. Toungue

As for Flygon, yes it should have had a mega (definitely more than Pidgeot). And Levitate doesn't do much for Flygon, imo. Well yes,it gives him immunity to Spikes and Ground type moves. But I'm not really a fan of Levitate for such Pokemon.
