those battles are not that brutal. it is in the gamer if he thinks that the battles he's doing are brutal or not. at least there is no blood involved, and most of the moves in pokemon can't be done in real life .
yes, making baby pokemon cry is a thing to feel guilty of, but it's really a part of a game. for example, if you defeated someone in a soccer game (either weak or strong...), would you feel guilty? i'm sure that scarcely happens (but for some, yes).
Pokemon just wants us to learn the spirit of bonding with our trusted ally and sportsmanship. however, the truth is usually distorted and gamers think of other things, some which are evil...
