my city had a thunder storm a few days ago, which caused 2 consecutive power-outages. they resulted in my computer losing access to the internet, from a change in an IP address. when we got the internet back on, i tried to use my wifi connector. it says i would be connected but then disconnected. i tried multiple times, put the same error code would come up, 52103. I entered into the error code into the site, but non of the information helped out. i uninstalled the software, but when i try to reinstall it, a pop-up comes up when the blue bar is filled. it says Internet Connection Sharing error.(5). and on the registration tool installer, after i close the pop-up, it says Application error.. i keep trying to reinstall it, but it keeps coming up.

Hi!

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're having installing your Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector. For assistance with this process, please visit the following page on our website:

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_...rouble.jsp

If you have tried all of the troubleshooting options listed on our site with no success, I unfortunately will not be able to provide a positive end result. The Internet Connection Sharing Error 5 indicates that the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service on your computer is either not installed or it is not functioning properly. ICS is required for the USB Connector to share the Internet with your existing connection. I am unsure what happened during the thunder storm, but something relating to ICS on your computer has been affected by it.

Outside of having your Windows XP fixed or re-installed, you will need to pursue alternative options, such as a wireless router. If you don't already own a router, there are many currently on the market which will allow you to connect your Nintendo DS as well as other wireless devices wirelessly to the Internet. We have compiled some information on the more common routers. You may find this information at the following website:

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_...erInfo.jsp

If you're unable to use either the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector or a wireless router, you can still connect your Nintendo DS to WFC at thousands of compatible wireless hotspots, including over 6,000 McDonald's restaurant locations (served by Wayport's Wi-Fi World service) throughout the United States. For additional information, please check out the "Find Hotspots" section of our website at http://www.nintendowifi.com. Below, is the direct address for this web page:

I hope this information assists you.

Sincerely,

Nintendo of America Inc.

so,can anyone help me out with my problem?
First I;'d suggest that you test the WiFi Adapter at some friend's house, if it works there you'll at least know the dongle is not fried by the thunderstorm.
Then, you should probably run a Windows System Restore as http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084 describes, that should fix any issues that occured because of the thunderstorm.
