I have read that Mirage Island becomes visible only when one of your pokemon has a (special) number. What's that number? Is this number visible?

No it's not the IDno. It is a random number generated every day for every Pokemon you own. If you try the same day with another party, the island may be visible. Anyway I have never found it and I don't have the Liechi.

I know that Mirage Island is far more difficult to be found than a shiny or anything in Pokemon games that is based on luck,so I guess it's no surprise no one can find it...

Actually, finding the Mirage Island is not based on luck, but is based on what number your Pokemon have. It appears when a Pokemon on your team has the same number as it. It changes every day, so your chances of seeing it are very rare.
And what pokemon can you find there?I have never been there so i guess something new will be interesting.
There are only wynauts!But you also get the liechi berry..I have never been at the mirage island too!
