Actually their "proof revolves around different things. For example:
Pokemon are like demons; they must be captured and called upon to perform tasks.

Magical talismans (supposedly a reference to Gym Badges) are needed to control them.

Pokémon evolve. Though this transformation is more akin to metamorphosis in most Pokémon, the theory of evolution is denied entirely by the most fundamentalist creationists, who believe that all things as they are presently were divinely inspired.

Some Pokémon evolution even requires the use of certain magical stones.

Many Pokémon have extraordinary paranormal powers, notably Psychic-types. Those with Psychic powers are labeled as having been given these powers by Satan in the Bible itself.

Many Pokémon embody or practice East Asian spiritual or mystical concepts, being that the franchise originated in Japan. Many christian groups denounce these as pagan rituals.

Some claim that if one were to play backwards the Pokérap, "Gotta Catch 'em All!" can be heard as "I love Satan".

Some Pagan religions claim many Pokémon have similarities to many pagan spirits.

and so it goes...

- People capture demons? How does that work? I thought demons were controlling human's soul, not the opposite.
- But it's not necessary to own gym badges in order to control Pokemon.
- Well, that's something I never thought about. The only thing I knew was that Pokemon were propaganda about cloning (see Mewtwo and Pokemon cloning glitch).

No matter how good something is, there will always be people who will find something in order to criticize it.

Anyway, Pokemon has nothing to do with religion so making connection between these two is pointless. They are irrelevant.

Actually, everything that's famous will be the easy target for stupit criticizings. Take for example Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter francises. Before the movie adaptions nobody would care about them. But when they became super famous due to the movie adaptions...voila! They become the work of the satan. Man, even Frank Miller's 300 movie adaption was criticised by few idiots because it wasn't historical accurate, Xerxes was like a moving carnival and some persian enemies were like monsters that hopped from Lord of the Rings. Well, excuse meeeeeeeeeeeeeee, princess! It's a fantasy movie based on a fantasy comic, not a History's Channel documentary. Besides, even the more "serious" films based on historical events are not historical accurate.

This. So much this.

Also, this thread is so serious that I had to click advanced reply to post.

Um...haven't you seen that some gym badges given to you will say "pokemon up to level (something) will obey you"? Or at least that applies to traded pokemon.

Anyways I know pokemon isn't linked to satanism, I just like laughing at the people who do. Pokemon is just a game, and the religious groups that make a point of banning pokemon from their religion or something like that are just making fools out of themselves.

A GAME? JUST A GAME? Pokemon is not just a usual game; It's a religion with such a huge impact that other religions like Christianity are jealous of and that's why they want to ban Pokemon with the excuse that they're satanic.

(what the f*ck am I saying Big Grin )
I'll be honest, I never knew that Pokemon went through (and probably is still going through) religious controversy! I'm a christian, and I never gave a damn about famous franchises being "satanic". What's wrong with these guys?

They're jelly because more people are loyal to Pokémon rather than church/religion/God etc Toungue
See, this is why I never liked religion. Most religions seem to be full of crack jobs who will act like all other religions are evil and stuff like that.
Another thing! I never cared what other religion other people were! Not once, have I ever allowed different religions to get in the way of a friendship.
Well around MY parts, if you isn't catholic, you don't get any friends.
Hmph. I imagine that's the reason you spend more time on Planet Zebes. In fact, when I'm not in the Ancient Realm of Darkness, I spend time in either the Smash World, the Kombat Realms, or Dark Aether. (I like to steal supplies from the Ing.)
That sounds like a fun hobby.
Stealing from the Ing? It's not easy, but I do need their Phazon for my benefit and their own demise! Heh heh heh!
