what is lame is your team. you are lacking something that could easily take down water.
Base Spattack and speed of your team and sceptile ...well instead i will just find the average of spatt sceptile:105
your team:79
speedsceptile:120
your team:85.2
just b/c you think sceptile is lame doesnt mean people dont have feelings. what matters is STATS!!! i think Blaziken is lame, but do i stop training at lv 36? no. it has good STATS!!! and since sceptile is the fastest grass with top 5 spa. he makes one of the best non-legendary sp/swe in the game. you should get your act together and think about STATS!!! and if your wondering why i put stats in caps with 3 !, its because im trying to tell you, looks/ coolness is not everything. now unless you dont want an elecrtic type like raichu or manectric, you should really get sceptile. if you see how pros battle with sceptile, you may have second thoughts. if you got modest@scope lense with leaf blade, you go a powerful pokemon on your side.
oh and before i forget, here are the stats after you get sceptile( base averages)
Speed:102.6(17.4 point addition)
Spa:92(13 point addition)
Calm down, people! Don't fight here, right?!
I'm sorry if I insulted you somehow, Faiq, I didn't mean... But, as I was doing with treecko a little ago, I was just showing you your weaknesses.
About Skarmory, although it has great defences, the damage caused by Counter is based on the number of HP lost, not in his defences! So, if you lose a good number of HP, Counter may KO the foe! (Blissey is the best for using Counter since it has the highest HP) And nobody would use physical attacks in Skarmory, so Counter is useless.
It's OK if you think some pokémon like Sceptile are lame and only the legendaries or non-legendaries are good, but it doesn't mean that it's true, right?
And you should look to the base stats of the pokémon before thinking that Charizard is better for physical sweeping, for example. I'm not telling you this 'cause I want to criticize your style; I just want to help.
same with me. why do you think i put the averages for? do you see what kind of boost your team will get in speed and sp.attack? i would do it if i were you. try to get a modest and a scope lense if you want maximum leaf blade results most of the time. you dont have a solid foundation for your team.
You don't need to use Sceptile, if you don't want. But try balancing offence and defence even with sweeping moves, OK?
i didnt say he had to. its just a very solid pokemon with excellent speed and sp.at. it makes an excellent choice for sp/sw, as many grass types with high sp.at are slow, thus not that useful if a fire type comes on the field. ex: cacturne and exeggutor(best grass sp.at but horrible speed.)
ok then a recommended moveset for sceptile
sceptile
modest@lum berry
thunderpunch
leafblade
attract
doubleteam/dragonclaw
attract and/or doubleteam b/c sceptiles defences arent the best of all pokemon.
effortpoints: 252Sp.Attack, 252 Speed, and 6 Hp
And what do you think, aluado? is it good moveset?
Yes! THIS is a good moveset!!! If you prefer, you may use Crunch instead of Attract, but it's your choice. Prefer Dragonclaw over Double Team (you need many double teams for evading many attacks) so you can beat dragons.
hehehe... i AM getting good at this. real good might i add.
i am currently in the breeding process of making one with all of that but the dragon claw thing.
Or you could add a Timid Gengar with three Special Attacks of your Choice (Like Ice and Fire Punch, Thunder Bolt, Psychic, Giga Drain) and Destiny Bond.

No, your moveset is bad :'(
Leaf Blade is the only good move on there.
Hidden Power Ice > Thunderpunch; covers dragons AND fliers without having to add Dragon Claw.
Double Team and Attract? Dear god that is cheap. It will not get you any respect at all. Leech Seed and Substitute, please.
I noticed that this is ingame, so if you don't want to breed for Hidden Power Ice, go ahead and use Dragon Claw.
Keep in mind that that's standard, so you can be easily countered. Since you're new at this, though, I would suggest just keeping to standard until you get better
Sorry if that was a little mean, but you should always make sure you know what you're doing before you get cocky(heh, sounds like me when I was a noob
) :'(
If you win you get respect so there are NO cheap moves.Attract and double team are moves just like all other moves and there are counters for them.Aerial Ace can kill Sceptile anyway and you can put a Pokemon with an opposite gender against it or a faster Pokemon (Aerodactyl)

Sorry, you don't get respect by winning with cheap moves. Just because something has a counter doesn't mean it isn't cheap. The problem with Double Team is that chances are, you're going to get Taunted if you switch to a hazer or a phazer, and Sceptile is too fast to prevent it from Taunting(plus it would be a waste of a move slot for Pokemon that are faster than it without stat ups). Believe me, you aren't going to run into anything with Aerial Ace that you can't handle with well-timed Hidden Power Ice/Leaf Blade(HP Rock/Aerial Ace Aero shouldn't be able to OHKO it iirc).(Note: That was not in defense of DT, btw)
Also, the main reason DT is banned is because it takes no skill to use DT and become invincible. That's no fair to the other players.
Attract isn't banned, but it's still cheap. It's just not cheap enough to warrant banning, but it will get you ignored if you continue to use it prolificly.
I don't agree with you.If you know how to play you won't loose. You are the one who said that Double team can be prevented by Hazers or Phazers. There are Pokemon that cannot be effective without DT (Shuckle).A person without skill will not use DT effectively.DT is useless for Sweepers but is great for Annoyers. You seem to know about Pokemon so you would be able to win a person using DT.It is like Legendaries. Most people who use Legendaries are not good at Pokemon so they loose. Those who know will not use them anyway.

If a Pokemon can't be used without DT, people will just not use it because it's so bad that you have to resort to cheap moves to use it.
I don't think you're getting the point here. DT is a no-skill strategy. Meaning that someone without much experience can use it "effectively" by just using it. DT is not like legendaries because it actually takes a decent amount of skill to use a legendary effectively. And it is NO FAIR TO THE OPPONENT. It is not the opponent's fault that they let them set up because it's nearly impossible not to. It's no fun to have your chance of hitting a Pokemon to drop drastically in a few turns. There are so many other elements to be worried about that there is just no room in every team to have a DT counter. It's a waste of space. Visit smogon.com when it's back up, read some of the guides, download Netbattle, and battle. You will get it eventually. It just takes some experience in battling to truly understand.
