The official Pokémon website has spoken! They have been known as Tsutarja, Pokabu and Mijumaru for more than half a year, but now the Generation V starters have their english names revealed! From now on, they will be known as Snivy, the Grass Snake Pokémon, Tepig, the Fire Pig Pokémon, and Oshawott, the Sea Otter Pokémon. Also, even though we were not expecting it, the english name of the Isshu region has been revealed as well, the Gen V games will take place in the Unova Region.
Although not as important to most of us, the french names of the starters are Vipélierre, Gruikui and Moustillon, while the german ones are Serpifeu, Floink and Ottaro, for the Grass-, Fire- and Water-type respectively. Unova region was translated as Unys in french, Einall in german, Teselia in spanish and Unima in italian.
What’s more, we now know Reshiram and Zekrom’s classifications and ability names. Reshiram is the Vast White Pokémon with the ability Turboblaze and Zekrom is the Deep Black Pokémon with the ability Teravolt.
