Well, it might have a bigger effect on you if you knew Pinkie better. Since her canon self is a hyperactive, physics-screwing, 4th wall-breaking pony (she even had a scene similar to the Duck Season-Rabbit Season from Bugs Bunny), it feels uncanny for bronies to see her act the way she acted in the fanfic. I guess it was mainly made to hurt the feelings of the softer bronies. I, for one, enjoyed it. If you geel like reading a smiliar piece of literature, I suggest Rainbow Factory. Not as gory, but it is quite interesting.

Well, I think the fanfic stemmed from an episode in which Pinkie went psycho because she thought her friends didn't like her anymore.
