im going to be in a tournament in 3 days and i wanted to know which team i should use. i have 2 double, including the one above, and one single.
single:
Umbreon
Bold@ brightpowder
dark pulse
baton pass
double team
moonlight
Infernape
the one the other page
sceptile
the one the other page
weavile
adamant@ scope lens
ice punch
night slash
brick break
aerial ace
lucario
timid@ idk yet, i need choice scarf
aura sphere
dark pulse
psychic
dragon pulse
Espeon
the one the other page
this is the team i will use if it is a single battle tourney. umbreon baton passes double team to the sweepers, who sweep.lol.
Double
Sceptile
jolly@leftovers
leech seed
toxic
double team
substitute
Togekiss
the one the other page
infernape
the one the other page
blissey
the one the other page
Garchomp
Jolly@ life orb
E/q
Dragon claw
Swords Dance
Stone Edge
a special sweeper: espeon(above), lucario(above), or gengar:
Timid@ big root(lol root)
Giga drain
Shadow Ball
Thunder Bolt
Psychic
i need a choice between the sp.sweepers. espeon has the highest speed and sp.atk of all of them, but the least movepool versitility. some pick for me! and if think that sceptile wont get me anywhere, lol. lets just say it has a 30 iv in speed and won me a tourney when i was facing full uber teams, w/o fainting, even once. that justifies its use.
and which double battle team should i use, if its double battle?
Looks nice...
But I suggest you to use a speed boosting trait instead of a attack/s.attack boosting. It´s because many pokemon of yours are strong, but fragile (Espeon´s defence and HP, for instance, are really low). So they really must to attack first then the foe.
Hey, why dark pulse on Umbreon? I know it´s good to have a sweeping move, so Umbreon would have another rule than only baton passing, but I prefer Toxic.
It pseudo-hazes the foe many times.
i need a different tank that isnt uber or legendary, but can still fare well against ubers and legendaries. i minly want something that can withstand mewtwo'w and rayquaza. i would have done probopass, but mewtwo has aura sphere.
My current Diamond team is: Roserade, Dialga, Staraptor(Lugia), Infernape, Alakazam, Torterra. Good eh ?
My Pearl Team is Monferno, Roselia, Staravia, Alakazam, Floatzel, Sudowoodo*
*I don't know if it is better with another pokemon
My current diamond team which entered the Hall of Fame is:
Infernape, Luxray, Staravia, Kadabra, Pelipper, Bibarel
i restarted my pearl a few days ago. my team is:
vespiquen, drifblim, infernape, roserade, and alakazam. need... another... phy sweeper... must evolve gible...
My Diamond team is Electivire, Salamence, Garchomp, Charizard, Tyranitar, Torterra.
These days I am trying to create a good team. These are some of my thoughts:
I used to use Aerodactyl as a Choice Bander, but I will propably put Alakazam with choice specs now, because it can deal a lot of damage and it can use trick as well.
Gengar will surely remain in my team, and I will place shadow ball istead of psychic.
I also believe that Skarmory will keep being a top Spiker (or propably toxic spiker) so I think it will stay.
Like most of the people, I used Blissey in the Advanced Generation and I think I will keep using it although I would like to test it a little with all these new sweepers.
Curselax was one of my most powerfull Pokemon, but with the new Special-fighting attacks plus the new outstanding sweepers I don't believe that it will be as good as it used to be.I don't know wich pokemon to use istead of Snorlax.Maybe Lukario is a good idea.
Finally, my Metagross was one of my favorite sweepers.I think I will keep it, but I have some other Pokemon in mind like Rhyperior, Garchomp or Rampardos with rock polish...
I am still new with Diamond/Pearl so any ideas would be very usefull.
My team is Groudon, Kyogre, Giratina, Darkrai, Heatran and Dialga
Just kidding
Garchomp, Ninjask, Tyranitar, Snorlax, Rhyperior, Luxray
All EV trained but I won't tell moves, it ruins my whole strategy

I have been thinking about the same thing too. Alakazam (and maybe Starmie but Alakazam is superior with Trick) seems to cover everything with its moves and the only think that still makes me think of Aerodactyl is Focus Blast's low accuracy. But I am not sure if I use any of the two, I want to be original in this gen.

Correct. But replace Giga Drain with Energy Ball for having a higher chance of OHKOing Swampert. Consider Focus Blast too for the sake of better type-coverage (but its accuracy makes Thunderbolt a better choice).

The attack split will make the Skarm-Bliss combo die, imo. Flare Blitz can damage Skarm a lot and Focus Blast from Choicekazam does the same to Blissey (not to mention it fears Trick too). Swampert with Stealth Rock becomes a lot famous and seems to steal Skarmory's place and same happens with Cresselia and Blissey. With Mixed Sweepers becoming more and more famous in this gen, I would prefer to use Pokémon that can take both Physical and Special attacks with Milotic and Dusknoir being on top of my list.

Snorlax got Crunch and Pursuit now over Shadow Ball for KOing Ghosts so I guess the attack split improved him. Again, Focus Blast (and Aura Sphere too) will reduce its use but with proper support (Dusknoir) it can do well. I would not use Snorlax though unless it is a Trick Room based team. Speed is everything in this gen.

Agil-gross is still great imo and you should keep using it.

Rhyperior and Garchomp are both awesome but I would use Tyranitar (or maybe Hippowdon) with them because they take advantage from Sandstream. Rampardos is too fragile and won't be able to Rock Polish easily. One more Pokémon that is suitable for Trick Room teams. Other nice Physical Sweepers are Infernape, Arcanine, Electivire, Weavile and Gyarados but I suggest you swap Snorlax for them, not Metagross.
Hope I helped.
Does anybody know what are the most common moves/strategies/pokemon used by everyone? It´s good to be prepared for the majority of opponents...
By the way, my team (fun team, of course... I used it to defeat the gym leaders, elite 4 and Cynthia) is: Cherrim, Staraptor, Vespiquen (yay!
), Gastrodon, Blissey (it´s really cheaper to make your Blissey heal the team instead of buying potions
) and Torterra.
And I could defeat the elite4 and Cynthia this sunday, with those pokemon in a lower level than 50!!!
well, most of the pokemon that were overused will still be common, except... sceptile... as for the fourth generation, the starter finals are all used. atraptor see's more time than others lke it. luxray, but only usually by ppl that dont kow a thing about ev training.
roserade, rampardos, bastiodon, vespiquen, ambipom, drifblim a little, mismagius and bronzong a lot, spiritomb, garchomp, lucario, hippowdon, drapion, toxicroak sees a little time as well. pretty much everything from 461-480 is common except tangrowth, unless is has morning sun.
thats most of them, i may have missed a few.
@Ninjomewtwo:My Gengar's moveset is going to change according the rest team.About Blissey I was thinking this:Hitting Blissey with a special fighting move like Focus Blast is not going to do THAT damage considering Blissey's high special defence and outstanding HP so IMO Blissey is going to be great once again, but as I said before I have to test this.
Any advice for my single battle pokemon team? Well that's the team I am thinking of making in my diamond but I need some help first.
