Hum... Wouldn´t Aqua Tail be better than Waterfall for Swampert?
06-10-2007, 10:33 PM
It has 90 acc. and waterfall 100.

Aluado Wrote:Hum... Wouldn´t Aqua Tail be better than Waterfall for Swampert?I didn't notice that Swampert could get Aqua Tail. Yes, it may be better. Swampert, and especially CursePert won't matter much if it misses once, it can take some hits and survive. Also, Swampert is slow and can't take advantage of Waterfall's flinching effect, so yeah, Aqua Tail may be better.

Plus 90 accuracy is quite acceptable...

You should tell us your team´s item
Allow me to comment somethings.
Rhyperior: why does it have Substitute? A feel people would try to induce any status on Rhyperior. And since Rhyperior is quite slow, it´s not good. Well, it would be great if Rhyperior had Focus Punch. So, you could make a substitute on the first turn. In the second turn, the substitute would surely be broken, but you wouldn´t be hit (unless you´re facing a Marowak with bonemerang ).
If you don´t want Substitute, try Megahorn. It´s quite nice. About its trait, well, you should obviously choose Hard Rock.
Salamence: Nice thing, but since it has Choice Specs it´s useless to have both Draco Meteor and Dragon Pulse: if you used Draco Meteor you would switch out anyways... But Salamence can´t really learn anything nicer. If you can, try an electric Hidden Power... many Salamence counters are water-typed (like Gyarados).
Electivire is perfect A tip: make its speed equal to 264 and put the rest of EVs on Atk and the remaining on HP. So, if you predict well and make Electivire take an electric move, it´ll be fast enough to outrun anything dangerous. (It won´t outrun only Ninjask - which is unbeatable about speed -, Electrode - really UU - and Deoxys - uber, so nobody uses.)
Mr. Mime: Mr Mimes have great SDef, but it´s low HP and Def make it really fragile. And physical sweepers are more common than special ones. Because of its fragility, it must attack first. So, prefer Timid over Modest. Mr. Mime´s main role is a baton passer, right? So, max its HP and Def. Don´t worry about your SAtk... with 2 or 3 Calm Minds, your SAtk will be good enough.
Cresselia: looks wonderful, but lacks a recovery move. How about Moonlight then? I would suggest: Moonlight, Ice Beam, Psychic and Hidden Power (fight). About the nature, prefer Bold - if you baton pass some SDef from Mr. Mime, you won´t need much SDef.
Well, as I was seeing, you team has:
- pokemon with super-effective moves against:
- normal type: 2
- grass type: 4
- fire type: 3
- water type: 1
- electric type: 2
- bug type: 2
- flying type: 3
- poison type: 4
- rock type: 4
- ground type: 4
- ice type: 4
- fighting type: 2
- psychic type: 0
- ghost type: 0
- dragon type: 4
- dark type: 2
- steel type: 4
As you see, you´ve no pokemon with super-effective moves against ghost and dark pokemon. And only Electivire can easily OHKO a water one. What if you face another Umbreon? Without strong super-effective moves, you´ll have a hard time against it. And many water pokemon will be a problem to you if you´re not prepared.
Your team is quite balanced. About Umbreon or Vaporeon, if you choose Umbreon, half of your team will be weak against bug attacks. And since your Umbreon is a special tanker, not a physical one, a single Heracross´ Megahorn will kill you.
Wow! I talked a lot this time! Maybe it´s ´cause I liked your team.

Ok, my turn to suggest something here.
Rhyperior: First of all, take out Substitute for Megahorn or Swords Dance. Attack boosting Rhyperior is fantastic as it is really good at taking hits and hitting back with all those great attacks. If you use Swords Dance, I suggest you make it Impish though, its Attack will be enough after a single SD.
Salamence: Ok, the standard SpecsMence set is cool but make it Modest over Timid. With Intimidate and above-average HP and Defenses it can take a neutral hit and survive so it doesn't need that much Speed. Replacing it with Gengar could be good but Gengar won't last as much as Salamence will.
Electivire: The classic Electivire set is ok but I prefer making it Lonely with 252 Atk - 176 Speed - 80 Sp.Atk. and using Thunderbolt over Thunderpunch for some reasons. Your opponent will know you have a physical sweeping Electivire and they'll switch in their physical wall. Most physical walls are weak to Electric (Skarmory, Suicune, Slowbro) so hitting in their weaker Sp.Def. is prefered.
Vaporeon - Umbreon: I am not sure about them, I was never good at Eeveelutions so I can't say anything here. Maybe give more Defense to Umbreon because there are more physical Fighting attacks than special.
Mr. Mime: Good by I suggest Thunderbolt over Psychic. Skarmory will come in to Whirlwind you all of the time so you should have a way to OHKO it. 2 CMs and a Thunderbolt will do. As Aluado said, make it Timid. Max your Speed because you'll always want to use a Substitute first. Then, giving the rest 252 EPs in HP probably the best.
Cresselia: Other than Heracross, Gengar and Infernape, Psychic won't hit anything else. But those Pokémon are faster than Cresselia anyway. I would choose Thunder Wave over Psychic. It cripples both of those Pokémon and does the same to a lot of others. Heracross may activate Guts but now it is slow and you can switch to your Salamence/Rhyperior and kill it. Calm Mind isn't that useful, you can BP some CMs from Mr. Mime. Use Moonlight instead. Ice Beam is ok. Toxic can be used but if you have T-Wave you won't be using it much so you can use Charge Beam/Hidden Power Electric for Gyarados which will otherwise Taunt you and set up its Dragon Dances.
As a team, it lacks Stealth Rock/Spikes. Also, it lacks a reliable wall. Cresselia fears Pokémon like Gengar and Houndoom and it won't be able to wall their Shadow Balls/Dark Pulses. Vaporeon is weak to one of the most common used types, Electric. Umbreon can take some hits but it can't do many things apart from BPing Mean Look. So, think about replacing one of them (maybe Cresselia) with a more sturdy wall.
That was all.

IF base on mewtwo opinion....this changes i would take:
1: Replace Elctrivire over Magnezone
Magnezone @ modest (252 sp.atk 252 def/hp 6 sp.def )
Thunder @ rain dance / thunderbolt
Thunder Wave
Flash Cannon
Hidden Power (water)
2: Replace Skarmory over Mr. Mime(i thought about this after i know Mr. mime is UU,xD)
3: Replace Umbreon over Cresselia
It is not really good in taking hit(TO me) , icepunch, Ice beam, Grass move, water move(waterfall) could dmg me alot ...It can take only few hit
Sword Dance may not reliable due to it slow speed

I dont think Magnezone is fast enough to Thunder wave.
21-10-2007, 04:25 PM
yes, fr3 is right. Magnezone' s speed isn't the best a pokemon could have... but it has an acceptable level of sp.atk, def and sp.def
