- Description
- Online Pokédex
Bug Pokémon never get too strong. Butterfree has average stats and is quite fragile but the reason it is unique is his ability, Compound Eyes. This one raises all of its moves’ accuracy by an amount of 30% which makes most of its moves hit. Just keep Butterfree away from Physical harm or things will get pretty grim when hit.

Role: Parashuffler
Butterfree has to hit fast and has to hit first in order to survive the hit. The basic concept is to use Stun Spore or Sleep Powder which due to Compound Eyes will hit 100% and shuffle using Whirlwind, inducing all of the opponent’s party with a status condition. Psychic and Giga Drain are there to inflict moderate damage eventhough not STAB.
Egg Moves
Caterpie cannot learn any moves through breeding with Pokémon of the Bug Egg Group.
Training Grounds
This section is to advise you on the areas in which you can train for the acquisition of the Effort Points presented above. It is recommended you use 10 vitamins on the stat you desire to raise. Do not use vitamins on stats that require less than 100 Effort Points. Equip the Macho Brace on your Pokémon to speed up the process even more.

Contests
- Item Held
- Red Scarf
- Contest Moveset
- Aerial Ace [Cool]
- Hyper Beam [Cool]
- Solarbeam [Cool]
- Sunny Day [Beauty]
This moveset is suited for Cool Contests. The basic concept is to get Solarbeam working after using Sunny Day and finish up your appeals with the all-powerful Hyper Beam. Aerial Ace is a Cool type Move as well so you may use it in case you appeal first in any round. Be careful when using Sunny Day though; it’s a Beauty type move, which means that you will not get any additional points for using it. Moreover, its appeal depends on the crowd’s excitement so it would be preferable not to use it during your first round of appeals.
More precisely
- If you appeal 1st:
- Round 1: Aerial Ace
- Round 2: Solarbeam
- Round 3: Sunny Day
- Round 4: Solarbeam
- Round 5: Hyper Beam
- If you appeal 2nd, 3rd or 4th:
- Round 1: Sunny Day
- Round 2: Solarbeam
- Round 3: Sunny Day
- Round 4: Solarbeam
- Round 5: Hyper Beam
