As announced by Nintendo World Report, the first Pokémon game for the 3DS will be released in just 6 days. Its name is Pokédex 3D and it will be available for free on June 7th, the opening day of the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
The game itself is a Pokédex application that includes detailed information about the Generation V Pokémon, their stats, moves, evolution lines, etc. As expected, it makes use of the console’s specs, allowing the player to view and rotate 3D models of the Pokémon as well as view them in Augmented Reality and take pictures with the 3DS camera.
The game will only contain 16 Pokémon when you download it, more can be “unlocked” via Street Pass, Spot Pass (although there’s a limit to 3 Pokémon per day) and by scanning special AR Markers.
Update: As of now, Pokédex 3D is available on the 3DS eShop. Apparently, the first 16 Pokémon you get when you download the game are not random; they are Snivy, Servine, Serperior, Tepig, Pignite, Emboar, Oshawott, Dewott, Samurott, Audino, Scraggy, Minccino, Emolga, Foongus, Axew and Hydreigon.
