If the Pokémon is in the lead spot, chance of encountering a wild Pokémon during a sandstorm decreases to 50%.) or Arena Trap (The opponent cannot run nor switch. Flying-type Pokémon and Pokémon with the Levitate special ability are unaffected. If this Pokémon switches, the opponent is still trapped for that turn. The opponent may still switch by using Baton Pass. If the Pokémon is in the lead spot, chance of encountering a wild Pokémon N increases to 200%.)

Description
Dugtrio, a Pokémon seen more and more often in Pokémon teams, Dugtrio is extremely useful due to its ability Arena Trap, despite its very low Defenses and Hit Points. Dugtrio is to sent out to trap a Pokémon which is weak to one of its attacks and make it faint, switching again when a new one comes out. Dugtrio will usually be faster than most other Pokémon; however protect it anyway you can and don’t let it get damaged . Choice Band is the obvious choice in this moveset.
Strategy against Dugtrio
A Dugtrio with Sand Veil as its ability is a lot weaker than one with Arena Trap, so you should probably take advantage of this. Remember that Dugtrio has a very high Speed stat and if trained properly, it will be able to sweep effectively. However, by using a hardier Pokémon to induce a status condition or a Flying/Levitating Pokémon, Dugtrio will prove being weak.

Not much to explain here. Here are 4 Physical moves which, along with Arena Trap and very high Attack and Speed will be able to defeat most of the Pokémon. You may switch Choice Band with Lum Berry.

Egg Moves

These are the moves Diglett can learn through breeding with Pokémon of the Ground Egg Group. Click here for the Pokémon it can get them from.

Training Grounds

This section is to advise you on the areas in which you can train for the acquisition of the Effort Points presented above. It is recommended you use 10 vitamins on the stat you desire to raise. Do not use vitamins on stats that require less than 100 Effort Points. Equip the Macho Brace on your Pokémon to speed up the process even more.

Contests

Item Held
Sprite of Yellow ScarfYellow Scarf
Nature
Bold, Impish, Lax or Relaxed
Contest Moveset
Sandstorm [Tough]
Sand Tomb [Smart]
Scratch [Tough]/ Double-Edge [Tough]
Aerial Ace [Cool]

Similar to Sandslash’s moveset, it’s suited for mostly Tough Contests but only two moves are of this type. Let’s see… Sandstorm has the effect of shuffling the order of the next round. It combos with Sand Tomb which, despite it’s a Smart move, will freeze the crowd’s excitement for the round. Scratch or Double-Edge are moves that you may use to gain a standard amount of Tough appeal points on every two turns; be wary of Double-Edge’s effect though! You might consider using it when Sandstorm places you last in the Appeal order. Aerial Ace is there just in case Sandstorm places you first in the next appeal order.

More precisely

  • If you appeal 1st:
    • Round 1: Aerial Ace
    • Round 2: Sandstorm/Scratch/Double-Edge
    • Round 3: Sand Tomb/Aerial Ace/Scratch/Double-Edge (depending what was used before) (Aerial Ace should be used if first in Appeal order)
    • Round 4: Sandstorm/Scratch/Double-Edge
    • Round 5: Sand Tomb/Aerial Ace/Scratch/Double-Edge (depending what was used before) (Aerial Ace should be used if first in Appeal order)
  • If you appeal 2nd or 3rd:
    • Round 1: Sandstorm/Scratch/Double-Edge
    • Round 2: Sand Tomb/Aerial Ace/Scratch/Double-Edge (depending what was used before) (Aerial Ace should be used if first in Appeal order)
    • Round 3: Sandstorm/Scratch/Double-Edge
    • Round 4: Sand Tomb/Aerial Ace/Scratch/Double-Edge (depending what was used before) (Aerial Ace should be used if first in Appeal order)
    • Round 5: Aerial Ace/Scratch/Double-Edge (depending what was used before)
  • If you appeal 4th:
    • Round 1: Double-Edge
    • Round 2: Sandstorm/Scratch/Aerial Ace (Aerial Ace should be used if first in Appeal order)

Stats & Training Guide, the Team Building Guide and the Egg Group Guide. More guides shall be added soon to help you out. If you have suggestions on additional movesets for either Battles or Contests, please post them in the Comments section. I will then evaluate them and probably add some of them, giving you credit.
