Pokemon of the Week RS: Persian

by Eraleas

Persian Artwork

General info

Limber (The Pokémon cannot be Paralyze condition while having this ability.)
Base Stats
Despite its formidable Speed, unfortunately, Persian does not excel into any other domain left with poor Defenses to back it up and attacks that cannot be used to their extremes. Due to the fact it possesses Limber, it will usually move faster than all other Pokémon but will go down once damaged! Sorry Persy!
Strategy against Persian
When confronted by a Persian keep in mind that it cannot be affected by a paralysis, so do not use Thunder Wave or Stun Spore. Moreover, you should expect it to act first so act accordingly. Launch a strong, STAB attack and KO it before it is able deal any real damage.

Role: Toxistaller

Item Held
Sprite of LeftoversLeftovers (Recovers a small amount of Hit Points at the end of each round)
Impish (+Defense –Special Attack)
Effort Points
252 Hit Points, 129 Defense, 129 Special Defense
There is not too much choice when down with Persian. Using Toxic followed by Protect, along with Leftovers will buy Persian some time. Use Charm against Pokémon that rely on their Attack and Return when it is required to attack and end an opponent. Unfortunately, this moveset proves useless against Pokémon such as Gengar or those of the Steel Type.

Egg Moves

These are the moves Meowth can learn through breeding with Pokémon of the Ground Egg Group. Click here for the Pokémon it can get them from.

Training Grounds

This section is to advise you on the areas in which you can train for the acquisition of the Effort Points presented above. It is recommended you use 10 vitamins on the stat you desire to raise. Do not use vitamins on stats that require less than 100 Effort Points. Equip the Macho Brace on your Pokémon to speed up the process even more.

Contest Moveset
Swagger [Cute]
Growl [Cute]
Water Pulse [Beauty]
Charm [Cute] / Rest [Cute] / Attract [Cute]

This is a typical shuffler Contest Moveset, suited for Cute Contest. Swagger is to be used when placed first and Growl when appealing last. Water Pulse will shuffle the next round of appeals which can increase the chances of appealing first or last. The last move can be Charm, Rest or Attract, depending on your personal choice. I would advise Rest, which will make you oblivious to possible jams.

Useful Links: If you are not familiar with game language used above, read through the
Stats & Training Guide, the Team Building Guide and the Egg Group Guide. More guides shall be added soon to help you out. If you have suggestions on additional movesets for either Battles or Contests, please post them in the Comments section. I will then evaluate them and probably add some of them, giving you credit.
