I just built a pretty strange UU team in Net Battle. I battled three times and beat two full OU teams so I decided to post it. So:
Qwilfish @ Leftovers
Poison Point
Jolly, 200 HP, 58 Def., 252 Speed
- Spikes
- Destiny Bond
- Sludge Bomb
- Substitute
The spiker. It has a nice speed, so if I can't set Spikes, I destroy my HP with Subs and then kill with DB. Sludge Bomb is nearly never used.
Altaria @ Leftovers
Natural Cure
Calm, 252 HP, 26 Def., 16 Speed, 216 Sp.Def.
- Toxic
- Rest
- Flamethrower
- Attract
The annoyer. Toxic and Attract (female Altaria) are perfect. Rest + Natural Cure combo. Flamethrower hits Steel-types, immune to Toxic.
Muk @ Leftovers (yeah, too many lefties)
Sticky Hold
Careful, 200 HP, 58 Atk., 252 Sp.Def.
- Curse
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Ghost]
- Explosion
The physical sweeper AND the perfect Gengar counter. After Cursing 3 or 4 times it becomes unbeatable (an UU Snorlax). Sludge Bomb for STAB, HP Ghost for Gengar, Dusclops and the UU Shedinja. Explosion = death.
Banette @ Salac Berry
Insomnia
Adamant, 129 HP, 252 Atk., 129 Speed
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Will-O-Wisp
- Knock Off
Semi-sweeper, semi-annoyer. Wisping and Knocking Off leftovers is very fun. Shadow Ball and HP Fighting hit everything for at least neutral damage.
Flareon @ Liechi Berry
Flash Fire
Brave, 120 HP, 252 Atk., 138 Sp.Def.
- Shadow Ball
- Body Slam/Quick Attack
- Hidden Power [Fighting]/Curse
- Overheat/Baton Pass
Honestly, idk what this is supposed to be. I just like Flareon and decided to use it. So, either the moves on the left or the ones on the right. I prefer the left ones. If it's the right ones, Adamant instead of Brave. (This set sux, yay!)
Electabuzz @ Petaya Berry
Static
Modest, 6 HP, 252 Speed, 252 Sp.Atk.
- Thunderbolt
- Fire Punch
- Psychic
- Ice Punch
The special sweeper. All out attack set as always on Electabuzz. Idk why Smogon says this is an UU Pokémon. I think it rulez.
Yeah, that's it. Any suggestions?

Your team looks pretty good. I´m not with much time for analyzing it better, but I´ll give some suggestions, ok?
Qwilfish has a nice speed, but can be outrun... How about a Salac Berry? So you could use Subs + Salac + Destiny Bond. How about it?
If your Flareon is gonna have Overheat, use White Herb. So, you can use Overheat twice.

Flareon without Curse is always a hit-n-run Pokémon so White Herb isn't needed that much. And about the Salac, I'll try it although I think that Lefties are better. I was also thinking of switching Banette's Knock Off to Thief so that it's funnier but idk, Knock Off seems to work better.

I suggested White Herb because I thought you wouldn´t try Curse... you said that you prefer the left moves. Well, anyways, use White Herb only if you´ll use Overheat, but not Curse.

That's what I said. If I don't Curse (if I use the left moves), Flareon is a hit-n-run sweeper. This means that if my stats are lowered, I am gonna switch out. Anyway, Overheat isn't there for hitting, just for scaring Skarmories not to set Spikes. If they decide to stay in, then comes Overheat.

idlike to have someones opinoin on an electivire of mine:
electivire
jolly@ idk yet
ice punch( ground types)
thunder punch(stab)
earthquake(other elec.)
fire punch/ brick break
he's going to be the last spot of my team, wich for some reason still didnt have a good 6th pokemon. my other members of myteam are infernape, lucario, weavile, roserade, and togekiss.

The best set imo is:
Electivire @ ?????
Adamant, 252 Atk, some in speed, rest in HP
- Earthquake
- Cross Chop
- Thunderpunch
- Ice Punch
Adamant over Jolly because you'll get the speed you need when you switch in on a Thunderbolt. All it needs is some prediction. I chose Thunderpunch over Rock Slide only because it kills Pokémon like Suicune and Milotic and they can't Mirror Coat it back now. Cross Chop over BB/Fire Punch for killing annoying Blisseys/Snorlaxes/Regices/T-tars + it has a high critical hit ratio.
As for an item, Choice Band/Scarf, Life Orb, Muscle Band and Expert Belt may be useful.
Edit: Can somebody suggest a fourth move for my Gyarados in Emerald? It knows DD, EQ and Return and I don't know what else to use. If it was NetBattle, I would use Taunt, but in-game, it is kinda useless.

Taunt is useful for battles with other people so put it in here.If you want to use that Gyarados in-game, then the moveset could be very different.

i want to start training my shiny zubat but i dont know a good moveset. its jolly, and i know thats good. its goin to be for wifi, so i assume it should have haze and cross poison or aerial ace. would x-scissor be good to ko psychic types?
29-06-2007, 08:35 PM
Well it depends on your team.Would you like to use it as a sweeper, an annoyer or a toxic suffler...?
30-06-2007, 06:41 PM
probably a toxic shuffler. i have enough sweepers on my team
05-07-2007, 11:35 AM
You don't have to focus on sweeping moves then.It is a toxic shuffler so Toxic and Whirlwind are standar. You don't have to use haze because you have whirlwind. The next two moves also depend on the rest of your Pokemon.
05-07-2007, 04:24 PM
Well, I'm going to post one member of my team at a time so you can give me specific advice.
Charizard @ Quick Claw
Timid
-Blast Burn
-EQ
-Flamethrower
-Fly
Btw how can I find the EVs that I've given to a pokemon?

Quick Claw is useless to Charizard, a fast pokemon. How about Leftovers or Lum Berry?
Don´t use Blast Burn. In the moment the opponent see that you´re using Charizard, they may switch out, and Blast Burn will trap you one turn, which the opponent may use to kill you effortlessly.
Well, I´ll analyze your Charizard like if you were talking about the advanced generation, I´m not too confident on DS generation yet.
I would try...
Timid@Lum Berry/Leftovers
- Flamethrower
- Dragon Claw
- Hidden Power (grass)
- Protect?
Of course, it´s a special sweeper. Flamethrower has STAB and is a good move anyways... Dragon Claw can cause some damage on dragons and Hidden Power covers all Charizard´s weaknesses. Unfortunately, Charizard has no great movepool for special sweeping on advanced generation.
If you wanna try a physical one:
Adamant@Salac Berry
- Belly Drum
- Substitute
- Aerial Ace/Hidden Power (flying)
- Fire Blast/Earthquake
This is a good strategy, which could kill me sometimes. Subs first, for protecting somehow, and with Belly Drum the next turn, your attack will be awesome, as well as your speed, with salac´s activation. Then... Enjoy your STABed hidden power/aerial ace or earthquake. Fire Blast is a good option too, because Charizard´s ability, Blaze will be activated, ignoring a little the fact of using a -SAtk nature. Because the nature hinders the SAtk I´m suggesting Fire Blast instead of Flamethrower.
Or this one:
Adamant@Lum Berry
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Aerial Ace/Hidden Power (flying)
- Fire Blast
A similar effect of the previous moveset, but with dragon dance instead of belly drum+substitute+salac berry. You decide which you like most.
For DS generation... I really don´t know... I still have no DS or D/P >.<
