And finaly we will have a Casino Royalle!
We haven't seen anything that has a gambling game in Europe since Diamond and Pearl!(also HeartGold and SoulSilver,if we add that Voltorb Flip thing).
But,let's stay on topic!
A bank is not a bad idea (storing money and you get more and taking money and you have to pay more).
And maybe we could buy and sell Pokemon for Pokedollars.
eg:I trade with player A my Froakie for 10000 Pokedollars.
Definitely i DON'T want to see a game where you sell your pokemon.
It's dumb if you think the BOND-eye thing comes from James Bond so let's end it here.
I said it for joke the BOND-eye and James Bond...
And in most games there's sth like buying Pokemon.
The Magikarp salesman and The Coin Shop.
I'm against selling pokemon and in these two cases with magikarp and coins the first was a fraud cause the salesman tried to sell a "useless" according to him pokemon. As for the coins dont forget tha t the casino was Giovanni's thus it was like treating pokemon like merchandise and nothing more.Generally selling pokemon or even having bank for money is totally againgst me as the game should focus on pokemon and not pokedollars.
Question: Since when did Game Freak start using Pokedollars as money, instead of yen? For as long as I can remember, Pokemon games had used yen as the primary currency, and besides spinoff games (namely Pokemon Channel), I have never remembered the contrary. Could somebody please tell me when this rift has occurred?
By the way, X and Y should have a bank, and a casino. That was a great part of the old games, and a bank is a better idea as well. I don't think Pokemon selling should be implemented into the game, however, because people would make a grind of catching Pokemon and selling them to NPC's for a profit, to buy mad potions and cheat when fighting a gym leader.
P.S. It's the Bond-EYE, not the BOND-Eye. Just clearing that up.
@Alchovich The money of the games (except the Japanese ones) is called Pokedollars,so since Red and Blue.
Pokedollars in Bulbapedia
@Tzanakos A bank is helpful though. What if you run out of money? Also,Mom in HG/SS (I'm not sure about G/S/C) can store your money and reward you if savings get a specific amount.
Hachi as you said it was the players Mom thus his family and it is just normal for a kid which the player is to give his money to his mother to save.I dont think that kids playing pokemon will be interested in a bank.Whats more that would make the kids take money from the bank to cover some secondary needs(lots of potions etc) and i dont think thats a good think to promote in a game.
Well, what about if you only store money in the bank?
i cant see the point in that when you can have infinite money on you.Anyway its just an opinion it doesnt have to be right or wrong
Oh... I thought that was the yen symbol. It would figure, since the series is Japanese in origin.
I just realized - The bank idea is great, but there are kinks to be worked out. When a player withdraws a bunch of money they can't repay because they blew it all at the slots, how do you get them to repay the money? Do you put a Pokemon up as collateral? No, because that presents an even greater opportunity for a cheap money-making Poke scheme (catch Poke, sell Poke). Does some guy come along and take all your money and valuable items after a while? How would interest and dodging bank mercs fit into a Pokemon game? It's a complicated idea.
Well, there's the move Pay Day that maybe a tutor in the bank can teach it to your Pokemon,in case you can't repay or when you battle a trainer, part of the money you earn go to the bank.
There won't be any slots in the american or european versions of the game. That would require them to rise the age rating. Japanese versions of HeartGold & SoulSilver did have a casino, but that's because their laws allowed for it.
And our admin it's here to clear things up.
It's a bummer really: being a first generation Pokémon fan, the casino is interweaved with fond memories; I disdain gambling in real life however.
They could perhaps substitute the casino with an arcade of sorts, where you'll have to pay (and win) berries, similarly to what they've done in the Dream World.
